Dear IEFTIC team and IE community,
In January 2018, the IE Film & Television Industry Club (IEFTIC) was founded by seven students from the Master in Visual and Digital Media (MVDM).
The executive committee consisted of president and founder Leopold W. Hofmann, as well as board members Anakaren Gomez, Bárbara Almeida, Adedunmola Olanrewaju, Omira Nassir, Thida Leiper, and Maya Mansour.
Counting with a diverse and global team coming from more than five countries, we hosted a variety of events for the IE community. These included film production courses, guest speaker sessions, and networking opportunities:
KARL CONIN (Season 1): Web Series Premiere
LinkedIn: A Strategy Session
Screen It!: Student Videos Screening
‘18 film & television panel
How To Make Great Interviews For Video Production
Screenwriting and Character Development For Film
IE Summer Screening: Short-Film Premiere
Visual Effects Editing Classes I-IV by Hollywood VFX Artist Adedunmola Olanrewaju
It is important for us to pass on our legacy and let it thrive among the next generations of IE students. As our program comes to an end, we have secured a new executive committee to ensure the succession of our club for at least two more years until July 2020. During the upcoming academic year, the film-related graduate and undergraduate clubs will merge into one and will be overseen by graduate students Camille Rousseau (MVDM) and Shahin Javadi Nezhad (MIM), as well as undergraduate student José López-Rúa Taboada (LLBBIR).
The new team brings together the Law School, the Business School, and the School of Human Science and Technology, which highlights an important aspect of the future IEFTIC vision: promote and encourage diversity. The backgrounds of the of the new executive team spans across industries, which will allow for more inclusion, openness, and creativity among its members and the events they will host. IEFTIC is looking to diversify its team even more.

Also, we are focused on increasing and strengthening our social media presence to attract more members and bring together the film and television community on campus.
We are happy to hand over the club to the next generation and will continue to act as advisors to the club and its board. We wish all the best to the new coordinators and are looking forward to many new engaging events.
All the best,
Leopold W. Hofmann & Anakaren Gomez
